Vent: everyone says return broken stuff to the store, but I fixed my $35 Walmart fan with a $2 part instead
The blade hub cracked after 5 weeks and the store wanted a receipt I lost, so I pulled the cage off and swapped in a $2 metal hub from the hardware bin. Am I the only one who thinks fixing cheap stuff is smarter than fighting a return line?
My dad worked at a hardware store for like 12 years and he always said the cheap fans die because of that plastic hub, not the motor. A metal one basically makes it last forever. Way easier than driving back to Walmart and arguing with someone at the service desk.
