Warning: My brother-in-law's 2-second fix for a busted blender lid cost me a whole smoothie
My brother-in-law swore up and down that a rubber band around the base of my blender would hold the cracked lid down, so I tried it last weekend. The thing popped off on the second blend and sprayed kale and frozen mango across my whole kitchen, including the ceiling somehow. I spent 45 minutes wiping green goop off the cabinets while he just stood there laughing. The lid was a $12 replacement part online, which I should have just bought in the first place. Tried duct tape after that and it melted from the motor heat, so yeah, that was fun. Has anyone actually saved a cracked blender lid, or am I just supposed to buy the new part like a sucker?
