Warning: my brother swears by fixing cheap stuff, I say toss it, who's right?
My brother came over Saturday and saw my $35 Amazon coffee maker sitting in the trash pile, and he said "give me 20 minutes" and had it working again with a paperclip and some tape. I told him I already wasted 2 hours on it and a new one is cheaper than my time, but he says that attitude is why landfills are full and I'm just lazy. So where do you draw the line, do you try to fix anything under $50 or is there a price point where you just let it go?
