Finally gave in and tried those recipe videos after ignoring them for months

I kept seeing those sped up cooking clips where they dump cheese on everything and call it gourmet. Last week I made a 3 ingredient pasta dish from one because I was out of ideas and tired. It actually turned out decent for a 12 minute dinner. Anyone else find a random trend that surprised you after you wrote it off?

Wait, was it one of those "3 ingredient" ones where the cheese is basically the whole point? I tried one that was supposed to be "creamy garlic pasta" and it was just butter, garlic, and like half a block of cream cheese. Not exactly gourmet but it hit the spot after a long day. I think the trend that surprised me was those overnight oats things. I thought it was gonna be gross and slimy but I threw some in a jar with fruit and it's actually pretty good for breakfast on the go. Just gotta ignore the part where they dump a whole container of yogurt in it.

Overnight oats are usually yogurt, oats, and milk, not a whole container of yogurt.

Wait, a whole container of yogurt? Like a big tub or one of the single-serve cups? That sounds like way too much. I tried overnight oats once and I used maybe a quarter cup of yogurt and it was plenty. The rest was just oats and milk and some honey. It turned out okay but not life changing like people make it seem. I think I'd barf if I had that much yogurt in there in the morning.
