Got roasted on a home inspector forum for my caulking technique
Some guy named Mike in a Dallas DIY group pointed out I was using bathroom caulk around windows instead of exterior grade stuff. Said it would crack in 6 months and he was right, mine started peeling at month 5. I switched to a silicone blend with UV protection and it's held up through two Texas summers now. Anyone else get humbled by a random internet stranger's specific criticism?

You're telling me some random guy in a Dallas DIY group called out your caulk by name? That's wild. Five months is like clockwork, I can't believe he nailed it that close. I would have been so mad but also kind of impressed at the same time. Nothing like getting schooled on sealants by a stranger to make you rethink your whole approach.

Kind of disagree. If some rando online called out my work that specifically I'd be annoyed, not impressed. Nobody needs that kind of unsolicited feedback from a stranger.

Oh, have you ever had someone point out a mistake on something you built or fixed? I had a handyman tell me I used the wrong kind of silicone on my bathroom sink five years ago. He was right, it started peeling after a few months, and I had to redo it. Now I always check the label more carefully, but it still stings a little when someone calls out your work like that.
