Overheard a teenager say 'skibidi toilet' unironically at the gas station
My brain short-circuited for a second. I looked it up later and somehow it's a whole cinematic universe now. Has anyone else had to explain a trend to themselves after hearing it in the wild?

Kids find their own weird stuff, let them have it.

Algorithms don't really "move on" though, they just shift to the next weird thing.

@leewood exactly right. My nephew was deep into some weird alien conspiracy videos last summer and now he's fine, just into normal teenager stuff like video games. Let them wander through the strange corners of the internet, most of it's harmless. The algorithm will move on eventually.
