Pro tip: I finally stopped watching those 9 minute 'oddly satisfying' compilations on mute, here's what flipped it for me
For like 3 months I'd put on those silent hydraulic press compilations while eating lunch, telling myself it was just background noise. Then last Thursday I caught myself rewinding a 40 second clip of someone crushing a bowling ball four times because I missed a crack in the paint, and I was already 25 minutes late getting back to work. That's when it hit me, I wasn't even enjoying it, I was just staring at a screen waiting for a payoff that never actually comes. So I swapped it for reading the comment sections on these videos instead, and honestly the comments are way funnier than the clips ever were. Has anyone else bailed on the actual videos and just reads the replies now?

Same trap for me, comments are the real show now.
