Scrolling TikTok with the sound off beats the mute button hack, here's why
Compared watching 30 food prep videos with captions on versus using the volume slider to zero, the captions actually killed the weird ASMR audio that made them funny, has anyone else tried this and felt like they lost half the joke?

My buddy Mike tried that exact thing with those Korean mukbang videos and it completely flopped for him too. The captions explain the food, but they kill the whole vibe of the person chewing and slurping, which is honestly the only reason I watch those. I get that you want to keep the ASMR audio, but I think the real trick is turning the volume to like 10% instead of zero, so you still get the sound effects but not the annoying music or talking. I've tested this with a bunch of those satisfying soap cutting clips and it works way better, the squish sounds actually land without blowing out my eardrums.
