The '5 minute craft' glue gun hack that ruined my countertop in Omaha

I saw this viral video claiming you can remove super glue with a glue gun. Tried it on my kitchen counter last week, 30 seconds of regret. The heat bonded the mess worse and now there is a permanent white film. 6 hours of scraping and citrus cleaner later, I'm convinced these videos are filmed by people who never actually test them. Anyone else fall for a DIY trend that backfired this bad?

Is it just me or does every viral hack these days skip the part where they tell you what could go wrong? I mean, that's the whole pattern now, right? You watch a 30 second clip and they make it look so easy, but nobody mentions the countertop is gonna get ruined or the paint is gonna peel. It's like they edit out all the real life consequences and just leave the pretty part. I fell for one last spring with the baking soda and vinegar drain cleaner, thought I was being all eco friendly and stuff, ended up with a pipe that smelled like a science fair project for a week. Honestly feels like these videos are made by folks who never owned a home or a countertop they actually cared about.
