This one Saturday last month broke me on those 'satisfying' slime videos
I was supposed to be cleaning my kitchen in Toledo but fell into a three hour hole of slime videos on my phone. You know the ones where they poke the fluffy slime and it makes that wet squish sound? I kept telling myself I would stop after one more, but then a video would show them cutting into a slime with hidden beads inside. It was like my brain turned off completely. I didn't eat lunch and my feet went numb from sitting on the hard floor. The worst part was realizing I retained zero information from any of those videos. Has anyone else felt like those repetitive ASMR clips just steal hours from your day without giving anything back?

I set a timer on my phone for 10 minutes whenever I open YouTube now, because I lost a whole Saturday to those slime cutting videos too. The ones where they slice into the rainbow foam blocks with hidden charms inside are the worst, I swear they hypnotize you. Now I put my phone in another room or use a website blocker so I have to physically get up to turn it off. That little boundary helps me remember I was supposed to be doing laundry or eating real food.

Man I tried the timer thing once but I just sat there watching the countdown tick away like some kind of torture clock, lol. @jordan_hill those rainbow foam slice videos are the devil's work, I swear they put something in the ASMR audio.

Now I’ve got a timer anxiety AND a YouTube addiction.
