Booked a flight to Lisbon for $350 by searching on a Tuesday at 3pm.
Kept seeing $600+ fares for months, then a friend said airlines drop prices midweek. Saved enough for two extra nights in a hostel. Anyone else find a specific time that works best?

Is that Tuesday thing for real? I always heard it was a myth! I check on my lunch break at work, usually around 1pm, and I swear I see cheaper flights pop up then. It might just be when they update their systems. Your deal is awesome though, that's a huge save. I'm gonna try your Tuesday trick next time.

Oh wow, I gotta say I think you might be mixing up when to actually book versus when to check. The Tuesday trick isn't really about looking at prices at 1pm on your lunch break, it's about when airlines actually release their sales. Most airlines drop their fare updates late Monday night, so by early Tuesday morning you can book those lower prices. The key is acting fast though, those deals don't last long because other people grab them too. So if you see a good price on Tuesday morning, you should book it right then instead of waiting to check again later. You ever tried booking right when you spot a deal on a Tuesday?

Yeah the Tuesday thing is real, but it's actually about when you book, not when you check. The best prices often drop late Monday night into Tuesday.

So you're saying the timing is more about when the airline's system refreshes the prices? That makes a lot of sense, because I've seen the same weird pattern. I'll check a flight for days and then suddenly on a Tuesday evening it's just... cheaper. It feels totally random, but maybe there's a method to it after all.
