Can we talk about how booking flights on a Tuesday is a total myth?
I used to always wait for Tuesday to book flights because everyone says that's the cheapest day. But last month I got curious and tracked prices for a trip to Austin for about 3 weeks straight. I used Google Flights and this site called Skiplagged to compare. Turns out, the cheapest day varied every week with no pattern at all. One time Saturday was actually $40 cheaper than Tuesday for the same route. I saw prices drop on random Thursday afternoons too. It made me realize those "book on Tuesday" hacks are just old advice that doesn't hold up anymore. Has anyone else found this to be true or am I just unlucky with my timing?

I see what you're saying and you did good work tracking prices like that. But I've been booking flights for over 20 years and Tuesday still works out best for me more often than not. Maybe it's not the guaranteed rule it used to be, but I still find better deals on Tuesdays compared to Fridays or Sundays.

Honestly, at this point Tuesday is like that one friend who keeps saying they'll pay you back, you just gotta believe it'll happen eventually.

Right, because nothing says "smart traveler" like blindly following a rule that's been debunked by actual data for years. I get it, you've been booking flights since the Jurassic era, but maybe the airlines caught on and stopped dumping their inventory on Tuesdays like clockwork. It's almost like they want to squeeze every last dollar out of us, shocking concept. Your anecdotal evidence is cute and all, but it doesn't change the fact that the whole "Tuesday is cheapest" thing is basically a myth at this point. Keep checking those Tuesdays, I'll be over here saving real money on random Wednesdays and Saturdays.
