My coworker's 'sleep in the airport' tip saved me $180 in Chicago
Last month I had a 6am layover at O'Hare and almost booked a hotel. My coworker Dana said just find the quiet gate near the B concourse and use the restroom before midnight. I did it with a neck pillow and earplugs, slept 5 hours on two bench seats. Woke up sore but saved $180 and made my connection fine. Anyone else got weird spots to crash at that actually work?

yeah that B concourse trick is solid, I did something similar in Denver last year. Found this little nook near the end of the C gates where the carpet was actually kinda thick, and I just shoved my backpack under my legs and curled up on the floor. Not gonna lie, I woke up with a kink in my neck that lasted two days, but I also didn't pay $150 for a room I'd only use for four hours. The key is scouting out a spot with an outlet and a trash can nearby, and making sure you're not in the way of the cleaning carts that come through around 3am. I also learned to set a phone alarm for 30 minutes before boarding, because that deep sleep after a red-eye hits different and you will absolutely sleep through your gate announcement.

Wonder if you've considered just booking the room for the sleep.
