Power bank died in the middle of a 12 hour layover in Atlanta

Had a long layover at Hartsfield-Jackson. My cheap Anker power bank from 2019 just stopped working. No warning. Phone at 15%. Couldn't find a free outlet near my gate. Had to pay $8 at one of those charging kiosks. That hurt. Anyone else had an older battery pack just quit on them?

Wait, did you try the old "blow on it and jiggle the cord" trick? That's my go to for any gadget that's acting up, honestly it's like CPR for electronics but with a 10% success rate. My own power bank from 2017 just straight up gave me the middle finger during a layover in Denver last year, wouldn't even light up when I plugged it in. I ended up having to sit on the floor near this one hidden outlet by a vending machine, felt like a total gremlin guarding my charging spot. Those kiosks are an absolute scam though, $8 for a quick top off? That's like a full beer at my local bar, hurts my soul every time.

Did you check if it was just the cable giving out? Sometimes the battery is fine but the cord breaks. Those charging kiosks are a total rip-off but they know they have you trapped. I still use my old Anker from 2018 but I always swap out the cable once a year just to be safe.
