PSA: A missed bus in Prague taught me to always have a backup plan for airport transfers
I had to take a $60 taxi after the last airport express bus left early, so now I check three different bus and train schedules before landing anywhere new, and I always keep enough local cash for a cab just in case.

Totally get this, it's like the universe's rule for travel. I see the same thing with tech stuff all the time, people have one charger or one password and when it fails they're stuck. Having a backup isn't being paranoid, it's just basic functioning. You learn it the hard way once and then you never get caught again. My whole life is basically a series of plans B and C now.

Right? @wood.uma, it's just smart. Learned my lesson with a dead phone at an airport once. Now I pack like I'm expecting everything to break.

Three backups sounds about right to me, @wood.uma. I carry a spare key fob battery for my car now after getting locked out at a grocery store parking lot. You'd think one spare charger would be enough, but then you realize you left it at home. Now I keep a whole separate bag with cords and a portable charger just for trips, never fails me.

Wait the bus left EARLY? I mean how is that even allowed, don't they have a set time to leave? That's so much worse than just missing it. I'd be so mad. I guess that's the best reason to have a backup plan, you can't even trust the schedule. I'm definitely adding extra cash to my airport bag now.
