That week I couchsurfed through Lisbon and saved 300 euro but slept on a floor with no pillow

Spent seven nights across three different hosts, one of whom only had a yoga mat in a hallway, so by day four my neck was in a knot but I had money left for pasteis de nata and a ferry to Belem.

Tucked a folded hoodie under my neck those nights, worked like a half decent pillow.

I used to be a travel pillow guy all the way, thinking hoodies would be too flat. But after reading this, I tried it on my last camping trip and wow, you're right. That little fold under the neck gives just enough lift without the bulk of a real pillow. Definitely changed my mind on the whole thing.

Used my boots as a pillow once, @keith274... worked alright till I woke up with a stiff neck.
