The bus driver in Denver saved me $60 with one piece of advice

I was about to buy a day pass for the city bus when the driver told me to just grab a transfer instead, since I only needed two rides. Ended up saving $60 over the week because I kept using transfers for short hops. Anyone else have a transit worker tip that beat the obvious option?

Damn, that's clever! But wait, did the bus driver actually tell you how to game the transfer system for the whole week, or did you figure that part out on your own? Because I've had drivers who barely hand over the transfer without grumbling, let alone offer strategic advice. Maybe Denver drivers are just more chill about it, or was this one guy unusually helpful? Honestly, I'm wondering if transfers have a time limit that made your whole week thing risky, like did you ever get caught with a expired one?
