Am I the only one who cut groceries down by $80 a month just by switching stores?
I used to shop at the big chain grocery near my apartment in Austin and my weekly bill was always around $200. Then I started going to the discount grocery across town about 6 months ago, and now I'm averaging $120 a week. The main thing I changed was buying off-brand for things like cereal and canned beans, and I also stopped grabbing those pre-cut veggie packs. It's crazy how just moving to a different store and skipping the fancy packaging shaved off that much. Has anyone else seen a big difference from just switching where they shop?

Honestly Aldi produce lasts the same as HEB for me.

Dude, same thing happened to me when I switched from a name brand store to Aldi last year. My bill dropped by about $60 a month mostly because their store brand stuff is actually decent, especially for things like pasta sauce and bread. I also stopped buying the fancy organic milk and went with their regular one, saved like two bucks a gallon right there. What store did you end up going to?

Wait, are we talking about the same Aldi? I heard some people say their produce goes bad faster than other places but I've never had that problem myself. Did you notice a difference with their fruits and veggies or was it just the dry goods that worked out for you?
