I wasted $80 on a meal subscription box that sat in my fridge for two weeks
Last month I signed up for one of those meal kit services because they had a deal for first time customers. I figured it would help me stop eating out so much and save money on groceries. But the thing is, the box showed up on a Tuesday when I had already planned to eat leftovers from the weekend. Then Wednesday I got called into work late, Thursday my buddy invited me out for pizza, and it just kept going. After two weeks, I had thrown out three boxes worth of produce and meat because I never got around to cooking them. The kicker is I paid $80 for the first month after the discount ended hoping I would actually use it. Now I'm back to just buying what I need for the week at the store, which costs me about $50 less and I actually eat it. Has anyone else had a subscription service that sounded good but just ended up costing you more?

Oh man, my friend Sarah did that with a smoothie kit and bailed after week one!

Three days into my own attempt at a smoothie challenge and I was already googling "how to pawn a blender," @angela_morgan. I think the only thing that got thinner was my patience.

Haha yeah I read somewhere that most "smoothie challenges" are basically just marketing gimmicks. People end up hating their blenders by day 4 and just eat pizza instead.
