Just realized I used to blow $60 a month on fancy trash bags
I was buying those thick kitchen bags with the drawstrings for years because I thought they were the only ones that wouldn't rip. Then I switched to the store brand last January after my wife dared me to try them, and they've held up fine on every single bag. Has anyone else found a cheap brand that actually works for heavy stuff like cans and takeout containers?

Not sure $60 a month on trash bags is something worth worrying about that much unless you're scraping by. I've been using the generic store brand bags from Walmart for years and they've never given me trouble with heavy stuff like cans or leftover takeout. Your mileage may vary of course, but I think a lot of people overthink this whole bag thing. If you're not having leaks or rips, then who cares what brand it is.

You ever actually tried those Walmart ones with something greasy like old pizza boxes or soup cans though? I did once and had a bag split right in the middle of carrying it down the stairs, got crap all over the hallway. Now I just pay a bit more for the ones with the grip strips or whatever, saves me the headache of mopping up yogurt water at 9pm. Not saying you gotta spend $60 either, but the cheap ones can really bite you in the ass when you least expect it.

Pretty sure this is the kind of problem that only happens once in a blue moon unless you're doing something weird with your trash. People act like a bag splitting is a life altering event instead of just grabbing a paper towel.
