My coworker at the office in Boise asked why I brown bag it, and her reaction stuck with me
I bring my lunch most days and pack it the night before, usually leftovers plus an apple and some pretzels. Last Tuesday in the break room, Dana watched me pull out my container and asked if money was tight at home, loud enough that two other people looked up. I said I was saving about $60 a week, which is roughly $3,000 a year, and she just shrugged and said she would rather buy. It has been bugging me for a week because it was not an insult exactly, but it sure felt like one. Has anyone else gotten weird comments from people about packing lunch, and how do you handle it?
