Paid off my card, but the bank might owe me money. What would you do?

I've been sticking to a tight budget and finally paid off my credit card. In my experience, checking old bills showed an interest charge that looks wrong, like a mistake. Your mileage may vary, but is it right to ask for that money back now?

Seriously? After what @amy_coleman shared, you should totally ask for it back. How far back did you check your old bills, and what kind of paper trail do you have? I'd call and make them explain the exact charge, and demand they look back at least a few months.

Banks mess up interest, always question it.

Ever notice how banks treat interest math like it's rocket science? @grantp42 I swear they hope we're all just too tired to check our statements. Their "advanced computer systems" somehow can't handle simple percentages without glitching in their favor every few months.

My friend had this happen with her savings account last year! The bank kept using the wrong average daily balance for three months straight, which kept cutting her earned interest by like thirty percent. She had to call four times and finally threaten to close all her accounts before they fixed it and gave back the missing money. It's crazy how these "glitches" never seem to short the bank, only the customers.
