Shoutout to my buddy Dave for the $5 meal prep trick

He told me to buy a whole rotisserie chicken every Sunday and shred it for the week. I thought it was dumb, too easy. But I did it for three weeks straight and saved like $45 on lunches. Anyone else got a stupid simple trick that actually works?

Take the easy route every time. Those big flashy life hacks usually burn out after a week. Simple, boring, repeatable habits end up saving way more money in the long run.

Once a week I spend 30 minutes rinsing out glass jars and sorting them by size. Sounds dumb but I've bought exactly zero food storage containers in two years. That's like $60 right there.

$60 over two years is barely $2.50 a month, which is nothing compared to the time spent scrubbing labels off jars and trying to fit weird-shaped lids together. Plus those pasta sauce jars leak like crazy when you actually use them for storing soup or leftovers. I'd rather just buy a pack of real containers for $15 and save myself the hassle every week.
