The $12 planner from the dollar bin that actually kept me on budget
I always thought paper planners were a waste for budgeting, since I have a phone with a free app that sends alerts. But back in January I grabbed a $12 planner from the dollar bin at the store on Main Street, mostly to write down my coffee runs. Six months later, my dining out spending dropped from about $280 a month to $150, and I think it is because I physically see the number written down. My buddy says the app does the same thing and I am just fooling myself. Has anyone else found that a cheap notebook beats the fancy app, or am I just weird?
