Bought a $40 'premium' bullet journal from a craft fair that fell apart in a month
The cover started peeling after two weeks, and the binding gave out completely by week four. I should have just stuck with my usual $12 dotted notebook from the bookstore. Anyone have a go-to brand that actually holds up?

Check the materials list next time. A lot of those "premium" ones are just cheap leather over cardboard. I've been burned by craft fair stationery too.

But joel_chen31, is a notebook really that big of a deal if it writes okay? It's just paper in the end.

Oh man, I wish I could be that chill about it! My last cheap notebook fell apart so bad it looked like a paper explosion in my backpack. Had notes from three different projects all mixed up with grocery lists. Took me an hour to sort it out. So yeah, for me it's a big deal because I need it to actually hold together. A good binding saves my sanity!

You said it's just paper, but the binding matters more. I had a notebook fall apart in my bag because the spine was glued badly. Now I check how it's put together before I buy.
