Debate: That $30 leather pen loop I bought for my journal
I finally caved and bought a fancy leather pen loop for my bujo last month, cost me $30. On one hand, it keeps my fountain pen RIGHT where I need it and looks great on the cover. But man, it adds bulk and I keep catching the spine on stuff, plus it limits which journals I can use. Has anyone else dropped cash on a pen loop or holder and regretted it, or am I just being picky?

Asked my buddy Mike to grab one of those for his traveler's notebook and he spent like two weeks trying to convince himself it was worth it. He ended up hating how it flopped around when he tried to write, plus the leather started cracking after a month. Now it's sitting in a drawer and he just clips his pen to the back cover instead.

Yeah that flap thing is a total nightmare. I tried a magnetic one once and the glue gave out in like two weeks, ended up just sliding around inside my bag. What worked for me was just sewing a simple elastic band to the back cover, loop it over the front. Costs like 50 cents and it holds your pen flat against the notebook so no flopping. Plus if the elastic wears out you can just replace it in five minutes. Your buddy Mike should try that, way better than shelling out for some overpriced leather thing that falls apart.

I saw a video where a guy just glued a magnet to his notebook cover instead, worked fine lol.
