Dropped $85 at a fancy stationery shop in Portland on dotted notebooks and now I'm back to a plain $4 one
Spent way too much on a set of specialty dot grid journals that smeared with every pen I own, which killed my whole weekly setup. Anyone else find the cheap basic notebook actually works better for their spreads?

That price tag doesn't make the paper better, you just got unlucky with that brand. My $12 dotted journal from Target handles fountain pens fine, so maybe the problem is the smearing, not the cost.
