I thought the whole 'future log' thing was a waste of pages...

For the first year I bullet journaled, I just skipped it and went straight to my monthly spreads. Then I had a dentist appointment get moved from April to July, and I had nowhere to write it down for months. I finally set up a simple future log with just six boxes, one for each of the next six months. It saved me so much flipping around and missed dates. Has anyone else had a part of the system they ignored that turned out to be a lifesaver?

My friend swore the index was pointless until she tried to find a specific grocery list from three months ago. She spent twenty minutes flipping through every weekly spread before giving up. Now she just writes "groceries, p. 47" in the index like a normal person.

That frantic flipping is part of the fun for me, honestly.

Yeah, my cousin had the same issue @casey818. He refused to use an index until he lost a whole page of vacation ideas. Now he swears by just jotting down a quick note in the back. It really does save you from that frantic flipping later on.
