Lost a whole week of spreads to a pen explosion in my bag
I was on the 8:15 Amtrak into Chicago last Tuesday and opened my backpack to find my favorite gel pen had burst all over my June spreads. Every single page from the 3rd to the 9th was soaked in blue ink, I couldn't read a thing. I ended up tearing out those 6 pages and redrawing the whole week on new inserts, took about 45 minutes. Has anyone else dealt with a pen disaster that ruined a chunk of their journal, what do you use that's actually leakproof?

Gel pens are the worst for this, I swear. I had a Pilot G2 blow up in my purse once and it ruined a whole month of random notes, not even my pretty spreads. Now I only use Sakura Pigma Microns or sharpie pens for anything that goes in my bag, they've never leaked on me. Also, I keep my journal in a separate zipper pouch inside my backpack now, not like a fancy one, just a cheap pencil case. Takes two seconds to grab it but saves you from this exact mess. Sorry you had to redraw everything though, that's brutal.
