My habit of over-decorating my monthly spread was killing my consistency
I kept spending 2 hours on fancy headers and doodles for February, then ran out of steam and skipped tracking halfway through. Realized the simple black pen layouts from my first month actually kept me going daily. Anyone else find that pretty spreads kill your motivation long term?

Ugh yes! Pretty spreads are such a trap. Simple and ugly is the only way I stick with it.

Simple and ugly" LOL that's brutal but honestly same. I tried making my journal all cute once with washi tape and stickers and ended up not writing in it for 4 months cause I was too scared to mess it up. Now my pages look like a 5th grader's homework but at least I actually use it.

Right, pretty spreads are just art projects in disguise. They look great on Instagram but they completely miss the point of actually tracking your life. Better to have an ugly page you actually use than a masterpiece that scares you off.
