My journal got soaked on a camping trip in the Blue Ridge Mountains

I left my bullet journal on a picnic table overnight, and a surprise rainstorm rolled in around 3 AM. When I found it in the morning, the pages were stuck together and the ink had bled everywhere. I carefully separated the pages with a plastic spatula and let it dry in the sun for two days. Has anyone else salvaged a waterlogged journal, and what method worked best for you?

Just toss it and start fresh.

Yeah but that's a waste. Sometimes you can fix the broken part for cheap. I've saved so much stuff just by taking a closer look first. Tossing it should be the last move, not the first.

Ugh, my dad fixed our dryer with a paperclip.

Jumped in to say this reminds me of how we treat a lot of broken stuff without giving it a shot first. @the_claire really nailed it with the whole "look closer before tossing" mindset, it applies to everything from dryers to soaked journals. I've fixed a cracked phone screen with a screen protector kit and some careful patience once, and it worked for like six more months. People rush to throw things out when a little effort can bring them back, and that's true for journals and relationships and old lamps honestly. Your spatula trick sounds genius, I'm gonna remember that for next time my stuff gets wrecked outside.
