My sister watched me set up next month's spread and said 'why are you drawing 31 tiny boxes by hand', so now I print the calendar grid
She saw me spend 40 minutes on Feb 2026 with a ruler in my kitchen in Tulsa and asked why I wasn't printing a grid instead, and honestly the hand drawn boxes were making me avoid opening my journal, so now I print a blank calendar page and just decorate around it, has anyone else dropped a habit from their bujo routine that everyone else seems to love?
the hand drawn boxes were making me avoid opening my journal" hits home. My buddy in OKC did the same thing for like two years, spent forever on grids and little banners and then never wrote a single thing in the actual pages. He finally switched to a cheap pre-printed planner and just stickers in the margins now, says he actually uses the thing. Some people love the art side of it but if the setup keeps you out of the book, that's backwards.
