Saw a guy at the Denver library using a bullet journal to plan a cross country bike trip

He had a full spread mapping his route from Denver to Portland with daily mileage, elevation changes, and gear lists. It was way more detailed than any app I've seen. Has anyone else used their journal for a big trip like that?

My buddy did something similar for his Appalachian Trail hike last year. He had pages of gear weight calculations and resupply points drawn out like a battle plan. There's something about writing it down that makes a trip feel real in a way a phone screen just doesn't.

Totally get what you mean about paper plans. My partner made a huge spreadsheet for our last camping trip with every meal and piece of gear listed out. Actually crossing things off with a pen while packing felt way more solid than just tapping a screen.

Did your buddy @eric_roberts ever say if having that paper plan changed how he actually hiked, or was it just for the prep?
