TIL you can migrate a whole year of daily logs into one tiny index card and actually find stuff again
I have been bullet journaling for about 2 years and my daily logs were a disaster. I would fill up 4 or 5 pages a month with work notes, grocery lists, and random phone numbers, then never open those pages again. Three months ago my Leuchtturm was getting so fat it would not close right, and I felt like I was just writing stuff down to forget it. So I tried something I saw in a youtube comment: every Sunday I go back through that week's dailies and pull out only the stuff that still matters. I write it on a 3x5 index card and tape it into the very back of the notebook with washi tape. Anything that is done or dead gets crossed off, and the rest moves to the card. It sounds like more work but it takes me maybe 12 minutes. I filled one card in 5 weeks, and I found a dentist appointment I would have totally missed and a book title my friend recommended at a party in April. My notebook is still fat, but now the back is the only part I actually flip to. Has anyone else tried a running index card like this, or do you just do a full monthly migration every time?
