Was super skeptical about color coding my weekly spreads

I rolled my eyes hard when I saw someone on Instagram use 6 different highlighters for their weekly tasks. Tried it out for 2 weeks last month just to prove it was a waste. Now I color code everything by category - red for work, blue for personal, green for bills. Anyone else find themselves using more colors than they planned?

Totally get what you mean about noticing color cues everywhere now... it's like a switch flipped in my brain. I caught myself yesterday reaching for my green highlighter before even reading an email subject line, just because I saw a bill payment reminder. It's honestly a little embarrassing how quickly I got hooked on this system after making fun of it.

Oh man, I was the exact same way! I went in thinking it was some trendy overkill, and now I'm the person with a rainbow of highlighters on my desk. It's kinda wild once you start, you realize how much our brains latch onto color without us even knowing it. I've been noticing that same pattern everywhere, like how traffic lights or store signs use certain colors to grab your attention without you thinking about it. It's like we're all just running on some hidden color code we didn't sign up for, but it actually works.

And Tess, you're totally right about the color code we didn't sign up for. I started noticing it in grocery stores too, how the bright yellow sale signs pull my eye before I even read them. It's like our brains are wired to follow these visual shortcuts without us ever agreeing to play the game.
