Bought the $120 signed apology memoir, now I regret it

I grabbed that influencer's tell-all book last month in Portland, thinking it would give me closure on their scandal, but 200 pages in it's just them blaming everyone else. The receipts they promised in the press release were three blurry screenshots and a link to a deleted podcast. Is spending money on a public figure's 'sincere' project just feeding the cycle?
