Changed my mind about that viral apology from the fitness influencer last month

I spent $80 on a course from that guy who got caught lying about his workout results, but I was ready to forgive him after his video apology... then I saw a side by side comparison of his before and after photos that proved he used different lighting and angles. The numbers just didn't add up when I checked the time stamps he claimed. Do you think an apology can ever be real when someone profits off fake results?

Tbh you're putting way too much weight on a single apology video when he's already proven he can deliver the results people want through his actual training methods. People get hung up on the small stuff instead of looking at the bigger picture of what someone's teaching.

Is it really that serious though? I mean, yeah, the guy fudged his photos and lied about his timeline, but @fisher.thomas has a point about the bigger picture here. An apology can still be real even if the person messed up on the details, because people make mistakes and sometimes they get caught in a lie they regret. The real question is whether his actual training methods actually work for people, not whether he used the perfect lighting in a before picture. If you got results from his course despite the fake before photo, then maybe that's what matters most. But if you feel cheated out of your $80, that's totally fair too, I just don't think a single apology video should make or break someone's entire reputation.
