I defended Shane Dawson's apology for 2 yrs until my sister asked me one question at Thanksgiving
She asked if I'd accept that same apology from someone who did it to my kid, and I sat there with a fork full of stuffing and had nothing. Where's the line between a real apology and someone just saying words to get their channel back?

The fork full of stuffing line got me because that's exactly how it hits when someone you trust asks the question you've been avoiding. So here's mine for you: if Shane had made those same jokes about your kid, would him saying sorry in a video with soft lighting and him crying do anything for you at all? Real apologies come with a change in behavior, not just words. What has he actually done since 2020 besides stay quiet and wait for people to forget? Actions show regret, words just show a good editor.
