My take on forgiving celebs flipped after I watched a 2019 clip of a guy I used to defend
Two years ago I would jump in and defend almost any celeb who put out a notes app apology, because I figured everyone messes up and a sorry is a sorry. Then I went back and watched a 2019 interview where this guy laughed while his buddy mocked the exact people he later cried about hurting. That laugh was the tell for me, because real regret doesn't need a press tour to figure out its timing. So now I read the apology, then I go find the oldest clip I can of them talking about the same group, and I trust that one way more. Where do you all land, does a polished apology ever beat the old footage, or is the old footage the only honest thing we get?
