Serious question, can a public figure really come back from a truly awful thing they said 10 years ago?
I saw this actor from a 90s show give a big apology on Instagram last week. He said some pretty nasty stuff online back in 2014 about a whole group of people. I remember it being a big deal then. But now he's doing a whole tour where he talks about it and asks for forgiveness. My thing is, he made money off those hot takes back then, and now he's making money off the apology tour. It feels off to me. Like, is it real if he's selling tickets to say sorry? I can't decide if I should forgive him or not. What do you all think when someone tries to turn their mistake into a whole new career move?

You know, I actually used to be one of those people who thought "hey, at least he's owning it" but after reading all this I'm starting to see the money angle different. Like, how is it real if you're charging people to hear you say sorry? That feels less like growth and more like a business plan to me now.
