That apology from the vegan influencer who got caught eating fish on vacation

I was in a cancel culture thread last week and saw her three paragraph apology about 'cultural food experiences' and 'listening to her body'. She used the exact same wording as two other influencers who got caught before her. Do you think any of these copy-paste apologies are ever genuine or is it all just damage control now?

Wait, people actually believe those generic sorry statements?

Maybe it's just me but sometimes a scripted apology actually helps the person who's hurt. Like if someone's in shock and doesn't know what to say, a basic sorry gives them space to process without making it worse. I've seen people get more upset when someone rambles on trying to explain themselves instead of just saying the thing. The generic one might be the start of a real conversation later, not the end of it.
