TIL a guy I dated 4 years ago got canceled for an old tweet and I almost defended him

He messaged me out of the blue last week saying people were digging up stuff from 2015 and I should vouch for him. But I remembered he ghosted me after my grandma died and suddenly I didn't care about his apology. Has anyone else had an ex come crawling back for a character reference?

I read a study once that said trust is like a bank account, you gotta make way more deposits than withdrawals to keep it healthy. Sounds like this guy made a big withdrawal four years ago and now he's trying to deposit pocket change expecting to get VIP treatment. Honestly, it's wild how people think ignoring someone's pain and then showing up later with a favor request is gonna work. Ngl, it just shows he still sees her as a resource, not a person he actually cares about. Tbh, she should send him a bill for all that emotional debt before even thinking about cleaning up anything for him.
