Dropped $80 on a fancy coffee grinder and wish I just used a mortar and pestle
So I bought this hand grinder last month cause I wanted fresh grounds for my pour over. Thing cost me $80 and the handle fell off after 2 weeks. The company wants me to pay shipping to fix it. My buddy uses a $10 mortar and pestle from the grocery store and his coffee tastes just as good. Am I just getting ripped off by these gear companies or does a real grinder actually make a difference long term? Anybody else get burned on coffee gear?

My cousin's cast iron skillet did the same thing after like a month. Read somewhere that the newer ones aren't made the same as the old ones, thinner metal and cheaper rivets or something.
