Heads up on those cheap ceramic pour-over drippers from that online marketplace

I spent about $25 on one that cracked from thermal shock after two weeks, so maybe stick with known brands for that daily driver.

Thermal shock is a real killer for cheap ceramics. The problem isn't always the price itself, but how the clay body is fired. A lot of those marketplace ones are made with a low-fire clay that can't handle the big temperature swings. A proper high-fire stoneware or porcelain is way more durable. That's why the known brands hold up, they use the right materials from the start. Your twenty-five bucks is better spent on a used brand name piece than a shiny new gamble.

Sounds a bit dramatic for a coffee dripper.

Guess my coffee setup is a gamble, but at least I understand @the_sean's thermal shock talk now.
