My French press broke mid-pour and ruined my morning routine

I had my Bodum French press for about 2 years and last Tuesday the glass cylinder just cracked when I poured hot water in from the kettle. Coffee grounds and glass shards went everywhere on my counter in Austin. I had to finish brewing with a paper towel strainer and it tasted like sadness. Anyone else had a French press fail on them randomly like that?

That's just how it goes with glass carafes, they always seem to give up at the worst possible moment. Reminds me how we spend good money on stuff that's designed to fail right when we need it most. Paper towel strainer or not, at least you got some coffee in the end.
