Remember when a good cup just meant a clean machine?
My pour over was always bitter, no matter what beans I used from the local shop. After six months of frustration, I watched a video from a barista in Portland who said to grind way coarser than I thought. I tried it with my Hario grinder, setting it to a 24 instead of an 18, and the difference was night and day. Anyone else have a simple fix that saved their morning brew?

My old Chemex was a bitter mess for a solid year. I finally asked the roaster at Blue Bottle and he said my water was way too hot. Dropping it from a boil to just off the boil made it taste like a different drink.

My first pour over tasted like I was drinking a burnt tire. Took me six months to figure out I was grinding the beans into straight-up dust.

Oh man, my buddy was having the same issue with his French press. He was steeping for like five minutes and it was pure sludge. Told him to cut it down to three and a half, total game changer lol.
