Shoutout to the barista at that shop in Asheville who suggested I stir my pour-over before the drawdown
I always got a sour first sip, but that quick stir with a spoon evened out the flavors completely. Anyone else have a simple trick that fixed a brewing problem?

Honestly stirring just makes a mess of the grounds for me. Maybe it's just my grinder but it always clogs the filter and makes the whole thing bitter.

Oh wow, I was totally against stirring for the longest time, thought it would mess up the filter bed. Tried it on a whim with a tricky light roast last week and it was a total game changer, no more weird sour patches. That barista knows what's up.

Yeah, my first try at stirring looked like I was trying to fight the coffee grounds. Spoon went in way too hard and just made a muddy mess. Took a few disasters to learn it's more of a gentle swirl than a full-on mix.
