Update: I switched from a $50 blade grinder to a manual burr grinder for my morning pour-over and the taste difference is night and day.

The consistent grind from the burrs, which I got for about $80, brought out way more flavor from my Ethiopian beans than the cheap electric one ever did, so has anyone else made a similar switch and noticed a big jump?

My buddy Jake finally got a hand grinder after months of me telling him to. He texted me all mad that his old blade grinder had been lying to him for years. Said his coffee suddenly tasted like blueberries or something wild.

Oh man, is it ever a game changer? I did the exact same thing last year and it felt like I was tasting my coffee for the first time. That old blade grinder was basically just making dust and gravel, so no wonder everything tasted bitter. Now I actually get those fruity notes they print on the bag, you know?

Wait, you got a good manual burr grinder for eighty bucks? That's wild, I always thought they were way more. Simon_carr is totally right about it being a game changer though, the flavor is just on another level.
