Worst coffee morning ever - burnt my hand and broke my french press

Last Tuesday I was so excited for my morning brew, I rushed to heat up water and grabbed the handle of my french press without thinking. The whole thing slipped out of my hand, shattered on the floor, and splashed hot coffee all over my arm. I spent the next 20 minutes cleaning up glass while my kitchen smelled like a burned roast. Has anyone else had a coffee disaster that totally ruined their day?

Dropped a whole mug of fresh brew on my lap once while trying to multitask and answer the door. Spent the next hour walking around like I was smuggling a hot water bottle in my pants. At least your floor got a good mopping out of the deal, mine just got a permanent coffee stain on my favorite jeans. Now I'm paranoid and only use metal travel mugs when I'm moving around, which is silly because I've dropped those too and they just bounce and spray coffee everywhere.

Wait, wait. EXPLODED in the microwave? Like, actually EXPLODED? I've had a mug get too hot and crack on me before but a full on explosion sounds TERRIFYING. Was it one of those cheap ceramic ones or did they put a metal spoon in it by accident? Because I refuse to believe this happens with normal mugs unless someone did something really wrong. I bet that microwave still smells like burnt coffee to this day.
