A bridal party almost made me quit mid-updo at a venue in Chicago last month
I was doing makeup for a wedding party at the Drake Hotel, and the bride's mom kept leaning over my shoulder to 'correct' my blending technique. She literally grabbed my brush out of my hand and started buffing the foundation herself. I just stood there with my jaw on the floor while the bridesmaids tried not to laugh. Has anyone else had a client's relative try to take over your kit?

Oh my goodness, that is just unbelievable. I can't imagine having a client's family member actually take a tool right out of my hand like that. You showed a lot of restraint because I think I would have been too stunned to say anything for a minute either. Just remember that you are the professional they hired and you have every right to politely but firmly ask for your brush back and continue your work.

The Drake, huh? That's wild. I'd have just taken the brush back and said "thanks, I'm good.
